Title: Comparative analysis of the results of two studies on the impacts of the use of electronic games by children and teenagers

Abstract

Analyze two studies comparatively on the impacts of using electronic games in terms of methodology and mainly the results and discussion. One of them is quantitative-qualitative research made possible through a questionnaire applied to teenagers and guardians, as well as an interview semi-structured with users of an outpatient clinic mental health of the SUS in the Federal District. The other is an integrative review of character literature descriptive with data collection in the PubMed databases, Medline, LILACS, VHL and Scielo, data analysis made by the IRAMUTEC software, the Classification Descending Hierarchy for analyzing results, as well as similarity and word cloud analysis. Although, in terms of interpretation, the first study aims to delve deeper into a phenomenon, being a photograph of the moment of research, the second has more generalizable results. The results complement each other by showing impacts on executive function, which makes it difficult to development of the control system in the first years of life, in addition to decreased well-being psychosocial and behavioral problems, such as increased self/hetero aggression. Furthermore favors musculoskeletal disorders, changes in sleep and eating habits, vision problems, other emotional disorders, with harm to communicative development and social interaction. Both studies mention the issue of development of limits in the family environment, the first being about the permissiveness of responsible for their children, corroborated by the second, when it brings the use of technology to facilitation of the daily routine, although this topic involves other deep and complex issues. It is worth highlighting importance of critical reflection through education health and psychosocial rehabilitation actions, to strengthening family relationships and encouraging games that allow interaction and development of socio-emotional skills, both with adolescents, as well as children and their families.
