Title: Severe intoxications needing a salvage therapy with sorbents: Fact or Fiction ?

Abstract

Numerous antidepressants, neuroleptics, psychotrops...and other drugs, digoxin are heavily bounded, lipophylic and with a high volume of distribution. CRRT is totally useless and nowadays we have new sorbents that if use early can avoid not only the death of the patients but also multiple organ failure, use of VA-ECMO and very long hospitalisation under inotropes and mechanical ventilation. Timing of use is obviously crucial before those drugs can be fixed in the body in case of suicide.
